A recording identified herself as an officer of the Social Security Department. Stated that my SSN was being used illegally in Southern Texas. I needed to call this number and extension. My wife received the same call the day before my call. This number originates from the Corpus Christi area.

I have been receiving phone fake calls about SSN being stolen. The call came from 18001115435. Please help. What can I do to prevent these people calling me day and night.

I accidentally dialed this number when trying to call Amica. It begins with a directory prompt as if offering a special offer before connecting you through. The offer I received was about an extended warranty, and I was under the assumption it was something endorsed by Amica as I thought that was who I called so I clicked (1) to hear the offer. It connected me with an agent who offered me extravagant discounts that may well have been for a legitimate warranty plan which I declined as it didn't seem to fit my needs. They did ask for quite a lot of personal information up front which I was hesitant to give, but is not entirely unexpected when dealing with car insurance. I gave them my name and zip code, and they of course had my phone number, but I stopped short at giving them my address. Then I went to call back and realized I had dialed the wrong number. I tried calling this number again and the next time the offer presented was for DirecTV! This time I pressed (#) to continue and rather than patching me through to some sort of service it began a new pitch and presented me with another offer... Dish Network! Once again I pressed (#) and then it began a new pitch asking if me or someone I know is suffering from addiction. I'm not really sure what the intent of this number is, or if any of the offers are scams or simply advertising, but I wanted to document this experience for the record, and for others who may make the same unfortunate mistake to find this when they go searching to understand what they have just done as well.

But Seriously why would social security call me would u think the cobs would call to tell u that someone is using your name. Yea this is a scam.

Said they were from Los Angeles Water and Power and of I didn't call the back within 30 minutes due to no payment on my bill my power would be turned off. Called them back and told them I didn't live i Los Angeles and the man who barely spoke English said "oh, ok", and hung up. I tried to call back twice and no answer. Obviously, a scam so beware.

Got a text from this number saying my "visa card" is temporarily locked. Comes with an email address that makes it look like its from my bank Wells Fargo. Its a scam don't fall for it. It also has an 800 number to call, but if you look where it actually comes from its a weird number, so I knew it was a scam.

Fake Car Warranty Expiring call

This number left a voicemail. Purporting to be a call from DHL about some unclaimed package. First part of message was in English and second part in Chinese.

Calls and hangs up frequently. I blocked the number and now receive calls from a similar number. I'm registered one the National Do Not Call list which does nothing to stop the scammers.

This number has called me twice this morning. It is a recorded audio that plays about a criminal action about your SSN that is a complete SCAM. They are almost to the point of harrassment and the number changes. Got the first of 3 calls from 3612020070 and the 2nd and 3rd calls from 3612020078.

It called and said my ss was locked and to get it back i would have to speak with a representative.. but it didn’t give me any information about what my social was nor did it have any personalization.

The message went away after restarting my router.

This is a follow up call about an inquiry made about student loan forgiveness. Please call us back to hear your options. My phone never rang and a message was left on voice mail. It was a recorded message that played after 40 seconds of music playing before hand. It was full of static and robot sounding female voice.

I did not pick up as long np it has no caller I'd.

This was my voice message they left: "This an enforcement action executed by the US higher authority stating your social security number going to be blocked intending your serious attention ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to the avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. This is the final attempt to reach you to resolve this issue immediately and to speak to a federal agent called back number 361-240-0506. I repeat 361-240-0506. Thank you."

Said they were calling from AT&T to let me know that my internet was about to be cut off today....for more information I needed to call a certain number....that's when I hung up.
